I’ve got mine up on the wall – getting it up there wasn’t too big of a deal and we’ve got the cables covered up by a cable cover thing that sticks to the wall. It blends in pretty well.

so yeah, i’m hunting for the perfect flat panel to buy (yes i’m indecisive natx ;) ) and i think it’s fine mounting if you own/have a nice setup for it.

i.e., at my friend’s parent’s place the wall was seemingly designed to house a flat panel: it has a recess where i guess at one point you would have mounted a nice painting – but the wall connects to a storage area behind it so it was really easy and convenient for them to mount the plasma directly to the recess and they were able to access all the wires and shit behind. so i guess in that situation it works out…

I just have an extremely heavy tv from target that i bought in college. Its screen is round not flat still hehee. I’m a lil behind.

Maybe i should wall mount it!

(I personally LOVE wall mounted flat panel tvs though with no wiring visible so my ideal vote would be for that).

Another vote for the stand/console here. I’m not scared of a little DIY project, and my LCD is pretty lightweight.. But unfortunately my building doesn’t have studs in the wall. And its a rental.

Mine is on a nice console I bought at pier 1 just for my tv, I’d like to wall mount, but probably not until I own my own place, and I’d definitely get someone in to do it, or do it myself with no external cables. Right now, I don’t trust the crappy 1910 walls in my apartment. (and my landlord would kill me if I ripped open the wall)

I saw two units in Manhattan that had them up on the wall. Both were luxury buildings, and one even claimed the maintenance guys would help you with it. The agent claimed it was a popular option for folks.

I guess when your living room is only 8 feet wide, you conserve space where you can.

my plasma still lives on a tv stand – though, it is a fine tv stand. none of that target bullshit.

i’ll probably wall mount once i own my own place; but while still renting, i don’t feel like dealing with having to unmount/mount any time i move – which is somewhat often if trends mean anything.
